Hospitality/Hotel
- Customer: An 800-room hotel located in New York City.
Customer
Need
The hotel has seen water and sewer rates in New York City rise dramatically.
The annual charges they incur amount to $360,000. The facility asked Aqualine
to look at the opportunity to save money by reducing usage without affecting
their guest comfort levels.
Aqualine
Solution
Aqualines engineering study included profiling the hotels
water consumption against Aqualines database of hotels they have
worked with. It was determined that implementing a domestic water program
would be an effective way to save water while at the same complete an
entire maintenance of its toilets. Aqualine installed over 800 tank toilet
and flushometer toilet rebuilds, water saving sink aerators, and low flow
shower heads. The toilet rebuilds allowed a savings of over 1 gallon per
flush while keeping the original toilet intact.
Savings
- Dollars saved equates to over $25,000 annually. Over a ten year period
this equates to over $300,000 which will fall directly to the hotels
bottom line.
- Gallons saved = 4.1 million annually. Over a ten year period, over
41 million gallons will be saved.
Payback
Payback on the cost of installation is 20 months.
