Healthcare/Hospital
- Customer: A 270-bed hospital located in New Bedford, MA
Customer
Need
The hospital was spending over $245,000 per year in water and sewer charges,
and water and sewer rates were rising dramatically. The over 43 million
gallons used each year made the hospital one of the largest users of water
in the city.
Aqualine
Solution
Aqualines engineering study included profiling the hospitals
water consumption against the over 50 hospitals Aqualine has worked with.
It was determined that implementing a domestic water program would be
an effective way to save water while at the same time upgrade the current
fixtures to state of the art technologies. Aqualine installed over 300
1.6 gallon per flush toilets, water saving sink restrictors, and low flow
shower heads.
Savings
- Dollars saved equates to over $57,000 annually. Over a ten year period
this equates to over $650,000 which will fall directly to the hospitals
bottom line.
- Gallons saved = 9.6 million annually. Over a ten year period, over
96 million gallons will be saved .
Payback
Payback on the cost of installation is 2.3 years.
